The term “Bioenergy heating systems” refers in this project to plants with heat production
based on different types of biomass and without electrical power generation. The maximum
boiler temperature is often 120°C and the maximum pressure is 6 bar, but depending on
national regulations. The size of the plants are typical from 100 kW to 10 MW. The plants are
operated as district heating plants in towns, in hospitals, military camps, schools and similar
larger building complexes.
